New Delhi, June 14: Hitting out at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for targeting Sonia Gandhi on the Bhopal gas tragedy issue, the Congress today said it was a “cheap and blatant” attempt to divert attention from the “debacle” of BJP’s national executive held at Patna.
“BJP has alienated itself, not just from its coalition allies, but also finds itself alienated from the people of India due to divisive, disruptive and communal brand of politics practiced by leaders like Narendra Modi,” Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan said here.
Natarajan said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s reaction speaks of “the anger and distrust people of India feel for Modi”. She said the incident is an ample proof of “the fact that the entire country outside Gujarat has rejected Modi and his agenda”.
