Cong forced Soren to BJP fold: RJD

Ranchi, January 07: RJD, which abstained from voting in the trust vote in Jharkhand assembly today, blamed Congress for allowing Chief Minister Shibu Soren to ally with “communal” BJP.

“Guruji (as Soren is popularly known) has always been secular. But he was forced to join hands with the communal BJP as Congress did not initiate to form the government (after the election results),” RJD Legislative Party leader Annapurna Devi said in her speech on the confidence motion in the House.

The fractured verdict thrown up by the polls was against joining hands with the BJP, Devi claimed.

Had the Congress made a serious effort in reaching out to Soren, he would not have gone there (taken BJP support).
