TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has alleged that the TRS government was not willing to continue the Legislative Assembly session, though the Congress party demanded it for extension of the Session.
Speaking to the media after the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, Bhatti said that the Congress party wanted that public issues be discussed in the Session, but the ruling party chose to end the session. “The state is reeling under drought and we thought that the Chief Minister would allow the issue for discussion in the House”, he said. It was unfortunate that the Chief Minister didn’t agree for the extension of the House. The Chief Minister told the opposition parties that the House would be confined to single day because the security to be beefed up in the City keeping Ganesh festival in view. The Chief Minister further said that it was not possible to see the security of Assembly and Ganesh Festival simultaneously, if the session continued, Bhatti informed. Bhatti said that the Chief Minister assured that the Assembly session will convened from September 20 onwards.
Speaking to the media Komatireddy Venkat Reddy alleged that the Krishna Board decision on releasing water to Telangana was painful. The inefficient government has failed to assure the farmers on releasing Krishna water.
Another congress leader Chinna Reddy has alleged that it was atrocious on the part of the Chief Minister to show Ganesh Festival as a reason to confine the Assembly session for a day. “How the Andhra Pradesh government is going to convene the Assembly session from September 8 onwards if the Ganesh Festival becomes a reason for Telangana state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to confine the session for single day”, he wondered. It was unfortunate that the Chief Minister didn’t accept to discuss on prevailing drought conditions in the state, he lamented. Happily for the farmers, the neighboring state Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given rain guns to the farmers, and it was atrocious that KCR was not even doing the same.(NSS)
