Cong demands resignation of Badal

Chandigarh, April 27: Congress in Punjab today demanded resignation of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on the issue of alleged misuse of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation for the storage of liquor.

“Badal is personally responsible for this criminal misuse of scarce storage space of the warehouse meant for stroing wheat as he held the excise portfolio and involved in this case are the ruling party politicians whose proximity to him is too well known. It was not without reason that even after the scam surfaced, he continued to look the other way,” PPCC President Mohinder Singh Kaypee said in a statement here.

This incident has further added to the perception of the people in the state that it is a government of the Badals, for the Badals and by the Badals, he said.
