Cong criticises TDP Prez on BCs issue

The ruling Congress party today criticised Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu for stating that the Congress government in the state has failed to provide funds to the Backward Class Federations and Corporations by diluting the BC organizations. In a statement here, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) General Secretary S Laxminaryana, Secretaries Ch Balaraj, CJ Srinivas Rao and Allam Bhaskar said the statement of Mr Naidu was totally uncalled for and far away from the truth.

They said the people of Andhra Pradesh were well aware about the administrative capabilities of the TDP President and his affection towards BCs in the state.

The Congress government had alloted Rs 118.89 crore to the Backward Class Federations and Corporations in the state during the current fiscal, the leaders pointed out. The Congress government had passed the resolution for inclusion of Valmiki/Boya, Waddera, Matsyakara in ST list and Rajakas in SC list and also taken a report from SC/ST Commission in this regard. Union Minister for Petroleum S Jaipal Reddy has provided reservation of 27 per cent for OBCs in Petrol bunks as well as in the LPG outlets, the leaders said. UNI
