Siddipet: Irrigation Minister, T Harish Rao today launched a scathing attack on the Congress for hatching conspiracies against the projects in the state.
Addressing a program at Siddipet, the minister took serious exception to the Congress leaders moving court against the irrigation projects like Mallanna Sagar. He also expressed displeasure at the Centre for not providing MSP (minimum support price) for Soyabean and Paddy in the state. The two crops are under Central ambit and the state government understands the situation of farmers, he said.
Harish Rao alleged that the congress leaders stooped down to file cases with forged signatures in the name of deceased farmers of Singaram and Vemulaghat villages. They must stop playing dramas and should support development works instead, he suggested. He ridiculed that the congress leaders who are away from power are getting disturbed and trying to misguide the courts and people as well. ‘We have proved that the Congress filed cases based on false information’ he said. The Congress regime failed to distribute waters to irrigate at least one acre in the district, he charged. Now the TRS Government is planning to irrigate 40,000 acres in Andhol constituency from Singur project in Rabi season. He also maintained that the government aims to bring Godavari waters to Siddipet by December. (NSS)
