The rift between the Congress and the MIM was increasing day by day. Both the parties have been competitively lodging complaints against each other, with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC).
On Thursday, the Congress party lodged a complaint against the MIM alleging that the latter was the reason for the unrest across the Old City, countering the MIM’s complaint lodged on Wednesday against the Congress. The Congress has also urged the SHRC to initiate action against the MIM, which caused the communal riots in Old City.
In response to the Congress complaint, SHRC ordered the City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma to submit a comprehensive report on the issue.
