ahebganj (Jharkhand), November 18: Hitting out at the Congress, CPI(M) today said the party cannot distance itself from former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, involved in an alleged multi-crore hawala and illegal investments case, as it had supported his government for 23 months.
“The Congress cannot distance itself from this huge scam…The party supported the Koda government for 23 months and now it is saying it did not know about the corruption. It has no credibility whatsoever,” CPI(M) politburo member Brinda Karat told newsmen here.
She also ridiculed Congress for inducting former deputy chief minister Stephen Marandi into its fold even though he was a deputy to Koda during that period.
“Both the BJP and the Congress turned Jharkhand into a corrupt state since its creation.
