Cong to boycott special session of MP assembly

Bhopal, May 10: The four-day special session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly to discuss developmental plans for the state will commence from tomorrow sans the main Opposition Congress which has decided to boycott the session, party sources said.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi with a request to direct her party MLAs to take part in the special session.

In reply, Congress spokesman K K Mishra urged BJP president Nitin Gadkari to direct Chouhan to call a session to discuss the more burning issues like corruption, deaths due to malnutrition, water and power crisis among others.

The special session will be held from May 11-14.

Chairing a meeting of his Cabinet colleagues, Chouhan said the special session has been convened to decide the road map for turning Madhya Pradesh into a golden state.
