An activist of Congress party was taken into custody by the Begum Bazar police after he climbed atop Gandhi Bhavan, the headquarters of Telangana Congress party here on Monday.
The activist, who was later identified as Raghav Goud, the president of Sanjay Gandhi Yuva Sena, was holding protest against the appointment of Ponalla Lakshmaiah as the chief of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. He alleged that Ponnala was involved in scams of crores of rupees in the execution of Jalayagnam projects and therefore, he should be immediately removed from the post.
On information, Begum Bazar police reached Gandhi Bhavan and took Raghav Goud into custody. (INN)
