Cong accuses HP govt of favouring business house

Shimla, April 04 (PTI) Opposition Congress in Himachal Pradesh today accused the Prem Kumar Dhumal government of favouring a business group during land allotment.

Gurmukh Singh Bali, MLA from Nagrota Bagwan constituency alleged that the BJP government has favoured the Jaypee Group in allotment of land.

Firing a salvo at the government, legislator Bali said that the state was being run by industrial houses.

Replying to Bali’s question, the government said that 3,675 bighas have been leased to the Jaypee Group for establishing cement and hydel projects.

However, Bali said the company has raised an orchard on the land that was allotted to it for setting up 1,000-MW Karcham-Wangtoo hydropower project in Kinnaur district.
