A conflict has arisen on the nomination of Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, IAS, Secretary of the Dept of Minorities Welfare. It may be noted that Minister of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Ahmedullah had nominated Mr. Ahmed Nadeem as the member of Wakf Board in place of Commissioner of Minorities Welfare since this post is vacant. The officials of Wakf Board term it as violation of rules. Earlier, Ms. Rani Kumudini, the then Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare had nominated Mr. M.A. Waheed, the then Commissioner of Minorities Welfare as member of Wakf Board. Since this post is vacant and Mr. Ahmed Nadeem is holding the additional charge of the Commissioner, the Minister nominated him. It may be noted that the Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare is the Appellate Authority on A.P. State Wakf Board. In that capacity he can issue stay order on any decision taken by State Wakf Board. In his capacity as Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Ahmed Nadeem is superior in position and by appointing him as the member, an attempt has been made to belittle his authority.
