Additional DGP J Puranchandra Rao assumed charge as the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation.
Speaking to media persons later, Puranchandra Rao revealed that his father, Radha Krishna, was a conductor in RTC. “He struggled a lot for my education. Today, whatever I am, it is because of my father,” he said.
Puranchandra Rao said that he would try hard for the betterment of RTC which once employed his father. Senior officials including Rao’s predecessor AK Khan, who is now posted as DG ACB, were present when he disclosed his rags to riches story.
Rao was previously the Chairman of State-Level Police Recruitment Board.
