Srinagar: Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Satya Pal Malik said that he is not authorized to conduct elections in the state. Any such decision will be taken by central government and election commission, he said. The governor on Sunday told this while answering a question asked by the newspersons on conducting the assembly elections of the state. He was attending police memorial day parade function organised at Jammu & Kashmir Armed police complex.
Satya Pal Malik said, by providing a huge amount to municipal and panchayat institutions of the state they will prove that the elections were for the people. ‘Our aim is not to see who becomes the mayor and who does not. We have nothing to do with it’ he said.
We will give more money to municipalities and panchayats in the centre and state and try to prove that the elections were for the people.
