Hyderabad: President of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the brutal assassination of Mohammed Akhlaq in Bisara village of Dadri in UP. He also slammed BJP’s justification of killing. He found fault with the SP Govt. of UP for its silence. The compensation of Rs. 10 lakh is not going to get back Akhlaq’s life. There is a need to change the mentality of the people who want to wipe out the Muslims from this country.
Mr. Owaisi told that the policemen have sent meat seized from Akhlaq’s house for forensic testing to ascertain whether it was indeed beef. The most unfortunate thing is that they have sent meat to forensic laboratory for testing, they should have scanned the brains of the culprits who engineered the murder. Mr. Owaisi also condemned the statement made by Mr. Mahesh Sharma, Union minister for Culture for his “nonchalance” with regard to the lynching. He further said that Mr. Sharma is a senior politician and this incident occurred in his parliamentary constituency. He did not accept that it is a case of misunderstanding. He categorically said that it is a case of willful attempt.
He lamented the manner in which an announcement was said to have been made from the local temple that Akhalq’s family possessed beef in his house. Even if somebody has beef in his possession, which is yet to be proved, where is the justification for the mob to attack somebody and kill him?
