Hyderabad: Dy. CM of Telangana State who is also Incharge of Dept. of Education expressed his anxiety on the deplorable condition of Govt. schools in Hyderabad City. He announced to release Rs.75 crore for this purpose. Each Assembly constituency would get Rs. 5 crore for the improvement basic amenities in Govt. schools. He said that in 1500 schools of the State, digital classes are being started on 14th November which happens to be Children’s Day. He was addressing a function at a girls’ school in Sanath Nagar yesterday. Present on this occasion were, Home Minister, Mr. N. Narasimha Reddy, Mr. T. Srinivas Yadav and others. He informed that TRS Govt. is taking necessary steps on major scales for providing competitive and quality education to the students studying in Govt. schools but it is very regrettable that Govt. schools in Hyderabad lack minimum basic amenities. It has been decided to provide these facilities on war footings. In another 2-3 days Rs. 75 crore would be released. Developmental activities would be started in 15 Assembly constituencies of the city by spending Rs. 5 crore in each constituency. Rs. 1 crore from MLA’s Development Fund and Rs. 1 crore from Collector’s Development Fund would be released. Dept. of Education would provide Rs. 3 crore.
He informed that Govt. is taking necessary steps to provide free education from KG to PG. 464 residential schools were sanctioned. From the next academic year in all the 119 Assembly constituencies, residential schools for BCs and 90 residential schools for Minorities would be established. On every school, Govt. proposes to spend Rs. 20 crore. He assured that 10-15 thousand teachers would be recruited. He mentioned that on account of reorganization of the State, delay is being caused in the appointment of teachers. TSPSC will recruit teachers in 2017. It has also been decided to regularize the services of all the contract lecturers but delay is being caused due to some legal issues.
