Compulsory retirement for 4 Jharkhand judicial officials

Ranchi, April 18: Jharkhand government today decided to give compulsory retirement to four judicial officials.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swaroop told reporters here.

Additional District and Sessions Judge, Dhanbad, Sudhir Kumar Sinha, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Dumka, Ramendra Nath Rai, Sub-Judge-cum-additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Brijesh Chandra Jha and Sub-Judge, Ranchi, Damodar Prasad would be given compulsory retirement after a probe was conducted following an order from the Jharkhand High Court, Swaroop said.

“The cabinet has decided to give them compulsory retirement in the interest of the public following investigations,” Swaroop said.

“As per Jharkhand Service Rules section 74, any judicial official can be given compulsory retirement on reaching 50 years or completing 30 years of service and (if) their service record is not good,” he said.
