Hyderabad, May 23: Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Sunday complimented the government officials in tackling the cyclonic storm ‘Laila’.
He said due to timely action by the various departments under the leadership of Chief Secretary and other senior officials, loss of lives and property to a large extent could be averted.
Rosaiah said talking the recent experience in handling the cyclonic storm, the government plans to further strengthen the disaster management machinery in the state.
Reviewing the overall performance of the entire administrative machinery during the cyclone, the chief minister conveyed the appreciation of their work by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
