Hyderabad, August 16: Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Monday stated that the State Government was taking all measures for the overall development of Rangareddy district.
Talking to media persons after unfurling the Tri-Colour to mark Independence Day celebrations at Cyberabad Police Commissionarate office at Gachibowli, the Home Minister said the government would implement a comprehensive plan to develop Rangareddy district in all sectors.
Apart from drinking water needs, she said that three lakh acres in the district would get irrigation facility if the Pranahita-Chevella Projects completed in the district. She said the government would spend Rs 182 crores to protect lakes in the district under NABARD scheme. A new scheme would be launched soon to solve the drinking water problem in the 132 fluoride-hit villages in the district.
To solve the drinking water problem in Tandur, she said the government has proposed Rs 26 crore Manjira drinking water supply scheme. She said that Centre has sanctioned Rs 148 crore to develop Vikarabad as satellite town with all facilities.
Rangareddy District Collector Seshadri, Cyberabad Police commissioner Tirumala Rao and Superintendent of Police Bhimanayak were present in the programme.
