Doctors of Apollo hospital operated upon a 49 year old patient, whose kidneys were failed, to perform Marginal deceased donor transplantation.
‘Marginal Deceased Donor Transplantation’ means kidney transplantation delayed more than 24 hours after removal from the cadaver donor’.
49 years old Mr. P. Janaki Ramaiah was suffering from Diabetes and kidney failure and was on dialysis for last four years. He got new lease of life when he received double kidneys which were flown from Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The donor was a 67 years old, who was brain dead at CMC, Vellore. Told the a team of doctors at Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad led by Dr. Subramaniam, Consultant Transplant Surgeo and Dr. Tarun Kumar Saha, Consultant Nephrologist.
