Chief Secretary SP Singh today directed Collectors to complete on time the development works under Sansad Adarsh Grameen Yojana (SAGY) scheme selected in villages by Parliament members in districts.
At a state level committee meeting on the central scheme with officials at Secretariat here he asked that the works taken up so far should be completed on time. The Collectors should focus on the works suggested by the MPs and ensure that quality is maintained he said. The scheme is meant for providing basic amenities and facilities to give face-lift to the villages Singh said. The details of the works taken up in the villages should be given to the officials concerned for speedy implementation of the scheme.
Directing to speed up the works he said that in 22 villages 1094 projects sanctioned of which only 431 were completed so far. While 216 projects under progress, 447 are yet to be started the chief secretary said. He also asked the Collectors to focus on the works completed and those not and assess their impact on the scheme. There is a need to fix the gaps if any and ensure that works in first phase should be completed as per plan. Singh also said that the officials should workout plans on the second and third phases of the works under Sansad Adarsh Grameen Yojana Scheme. Developed works in the ideal villages should be made useful for the general public and appoint necessary staff for the purpose, the chief secretary said. Besides protecting the assets the officials should take steps to involve people, noted personalities and leaders in the works for speedy completion. (NSS)
