Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy today directed that the officials and contract agencies should prepare a plan of action to complete the Mission Bhagiratha works by October to supply potable waters to every household by the year end.
The Agriculture Minister held a review meeting on the flagship water scheme at Kama Reddy and asked the officials and the contractors to speed up the works of main pipeline. Besides speeding up the works of over head tanks and civil works there shall not be any compromise on the quality, he said. The officials should also make efforts to make timely payment of the bills as there is no paucity of funds.
The officials should make arrangements for the timely payment of the bills and encourage the contractors to complete the works as per schedule. The prestigious water scheme will prove handy at the villages which are thirst for safe and potable drinking waters, he opined. The works, he said, will be completed by October and the poor people in villages will get water by December, the minister added. (NSS)
