Complete Krishna Pushkar works by July 31 CS

Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma today directed the officials concerned to complete the works of Krishna Pushkaralu by July 31and make sure that all facilities are put in place.

At a video conference with district Collectors and other officials on the forthcoming Krishna Pushkaralu in Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda districts at Secretariat here, the Chief Secretary asked them to expedite the works of roads, bathing ghats, fencing, mesh, security, safety measures and barricading. Top priority should be given to quality in laying roads and provide fool-proof arrangements for the devotees to be thronging in large numbers, he said.

Rajiv Sharma also asked for providing better transport facilities by pressing in adequate number of buses and amenities like water, toilets and pandals besides sprucing up the temples nearby with illumination. He also asked the officials to complete the works on time and ensure wide publicity through articles in newspapers on the prominence and history of the main temples in the two districts. He said Rs 680 cr sanctioned for the roads and works of 668 roads are at various levels of completion. Roads and Buildings department got Rs 366 cr for 63 road works and they have completed 37 works so far. The Chief Secretary asked to complete the rest of the works as only 63 per cent of 81 pushkar Ghats got that Rs 137 cr allotted and to press in swimmers.

Panchayat Raj wing officials said that Rs 134 cr being spent for a total of 131 works and 42 works were completed and took up 338 works worth Rs 38 cr for temporary toilets, make shift dressing rooms, drinking water, chlorination, sanitation. Endowment wing is spending Rs 4.52 cr for 55 works of amenities at various temples for the purpose.
