IT & Panchayat Raj Minister K Tarakarama Rao today directed the officials concerned to complete the sewage water diversion works of Kukatpally Nala into Hussain Sagar in two months.
Accompanied by minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, KTR inspected the works at Hussain Sagar at the Neckclace Road and gave a pat to the officials for speedy pace of the works.
Talking to mediapersons later, Tarakarama Rao took potshots at the Opposition for crying foul on the cleansing up proposal of the lake. “They failed to do such works during their regime and now were creating hurdles to the TRS Government”, he said. Simultaneously, cleansing of Hussain Sagar lake will be taken up and a plan to develop the Gandipet lake will also be implemented. He said by next Summer, the diversion works will be completed and Hussain Sagar will not receive the Kukatpally Nala sewage waters.
In spite of criticism and problems being created by the Opposition parties, the ruling party will go ahead with its plan of developing and transforming Hussain Sagar lake into a drinking water reservoir, which is the dream of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, in future, he asserted. (NSS)
