Vishakapatnam, February 20: Venkata Rani, Sandhya and now Naga Krishna Veni. The number of complaints against Vegi Jagadish, son of the owner of the Jagadamaba theatre complex, is only growing. One more victim is believed to be mustering courage to lodge a complaint.
Today, the city police registered a second case against Jagadish at the Two- Town police station.
Commissioner of Police N Sambasiva Rao told mediapersons that the first case against Jagadish was registered at the Bhimadaloe police station in West Godavari district on a complaint lodged by Venkata Rani. Accroding to the complaint, Jagadish married her and cheated her.
The complaint was transferred to the city police on Feb 16 and on the next day the Two Town police re-registered a case.
Late late night another woman, Sandhya of Srirangapatnam in East Godavari district, lodged a complaint with the Two- Town police station here and a case has been registered against Jagadish.
As regards the complaint of the West Godavari girl, police here re-registered the FIR invoking Sections of 490A, 342 and 506 though the complainant did not produce any evidence in support of her complaint.
The second complainant, Sandhya, alleged that Jagadish married her in 2007 and deserted her after six months. And, without divorcing her, he married another woman, she alleged. When Jagadish married Sandhya he shifted the marriage venue from Annavaram to his own house in Visakhapatnam and did not allow the wedding to be photographed or videoshot.
One of Sandhya’s relatives, however, managed to take pictures of the wedding.
Sandhya handed over a copy of the photo to the police, the commissioner said.
Jagadish is at large and a special party police team has been set up with senior officers to arrest Jagadish. “With only FIR, the police can not arrest any person without any shred of evidence,” Sambasiva Rao said.
Apart from a third woman, Naga Krishna Veni from Krishna district, another woman is going to lodge a complaint of similar nature.
