The weekly meeting of the complaints cell of the Department of Minorities Welfare was held in Hajj House yesterday. Some important officers of AP State Wakf Board could not attend this meeting. The meeting was conducted under the Chairmanship of Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Director Urdu Academy, it was attended by the officials of Hajj Committee, Minorities Finance Corporation, Wakf Board, Urdu Academy and Christian Finance Corporation.
The complaints submitted by the public were heard. It is said that most of the complaints were pertaining Hajj Committee and Minorities Finance Corporation. Many students complaint that either they didn’t receive scholarships or receive late. The officials of Minorities Finance Corporation counter check their complaints and inform them about the details of scholarships. They also told them the reasons for rejecting scholarship applications. Commissioner of Minorities Welfare Mr. Mohammed Abdul Waheed who was also a member of the Wakf Board could not attend the meeting. He also holding additional responsibility for Christian Finance Corporation.
Mr. M.A. Hameed EO of Hajj Committee is also holding the additional responsibility of CEO of AP State Wakf Board. He was also absent in the meeting due to which Prof. S.A. Shukoor had to preside over the meeting. The officials feel that they are prepared to resolved the complaints of the people but the reaction of the public is not very encouraging. Many people try to contact the officials on other working days instead of approaching them on Monday.
In this connection it is essential to create awareness among the people so that they could attend the meeting of the complaint cell on Mondays in order to meet the officials of every institution under the jurisdiction of department of Minorities Welfare.
