Complaint filed against Cong’s Barkha Singh with DCPCR

New Delhi: A complaint was filed today against Congress leader Barkha Singh with the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights for allegedly making minor girls participate in a recent protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

Anuj Bhati, a law student and a resident of South Delhi, has urged the Commission to take cognisanceof the issue under the provisions of Child Rights Protection Act, 2005 and initiate a comprehensive inquiry in the matter.

In the complaint, Bhati alleged that around 24 minors were made to participate in the protest rally and “forced” to sit in the middle of the road.

The protest by Congress’ Mahila Morcha had come against the backdrop of the rape of two minors in the national capital earlier this month.

BJP and AAP had also criticised the presence of children during the Congress protest.
