Hyderabad, February 6: The Jawahar Bal Bhavan and the “Aadhar” are jointly organising a three-day essay writing, elocution and painting competitions for school children in the Twin cities on the Bhavan premises at Public Gardens, Nampally here on February 5, 6 and 7 respectively.
The Bal Bhavan public relations officer, Mr AVBS Anand, has said that the purpose behind organising these competitions was to create awareness among the school children about the ensuing “Aadhar”, a 12-digit Unique Identification Number to be given to all the citizens in the country. He also said that more than 800 students from 15 schools in the twin cities will be participating in the three-day event and the number is likely to go up further.
Mr Anand said that essay writing competition would be held on February 5, while the elocution and painting competitions would be conducted on February 6 and 7 respectively. The essay writing competitions would be conducted for juniors on the topic “What do you know about Aadhar”, while for senior students the topic is “What do you know about Aadhar and its benefits”. The elocution and painting competitions would be held on “Aadhar” and the sub-juniors were also taking part in the painting competition. He also said that prizes would be presented to the best performing students at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School at King Koti on February 8.
Earlier, Ms Padmaja and Mr Deva Ratna Kumar, both assistant directors-general of “Aadhar” and Ms Sandhya, director of the Jawahar Bal Bhavan inaugurated competitions.
