Makkah Masjid compensation: Minister to fix the date

Hyderabad, December 20: C.M. of A.P. MR. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has instructed the Minister of Minorities Welfare Mr. Syed Mohammed Ahmedullah to fix a date for a function to distribute compensation to be paid to the innocent Muslim youths who were arrested after the Makka Masjid bomb blast so that the Minister of Minorities himself could distribute the amount Govt. has sanctioned Rs. 70 lakh for the purpose. Te amount has already reached A.P. State Minorities Finance Corporation. C.M. has given the responsibility of fixing the date to Mr. Ahmedullah for the function in consultation with the Govt. officials.

It is reported that C.M. wants to keep himself away from such a function because he may be targeted by BJP and other communal parties, which may result in the loss of votes from majority community.

Minister of Minorities Welfare is proceeding to Saudi Arabia for performing Umra and on his return, he is likely to schedule the date of the function somewhere in the first week of January 2012.
