Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today extended thanks to Singaram villagers for coming forward to give their lands for Mallanna Sagar project. Talking to reporters after their agreement for handing over the lands Harish said in Medak district that the government will offer compensation in one month after acquiring the lands. Related registration works will be done in the village and cheques will be distributed to them he said. He said that the victims of previous governments are making rounds of the courts for the compensation. The TRS Government will extend all help to the submerging villages he said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is for better compensation to the victims through GO 123 he maintained. The Government will also extend help to the landless SCs and STs through corporations, Harish added. With this the government could go ahead with its project works he said. (NSS)
