The State Government on Friday issued a G.O. to continue compassionate appointments in the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC).
APCC president and Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, in a press release, has stated that a family member of an RTC employee, who died in service, should be given a job in the corporation. The APSRTC Employees Unions have been demanding revival of compassionate appointments facility, which was stopped in 1998. The minister reminded that the State Government had earlier provided compassionate appointment facility to 1,220 candidates, whose applications were pending till December 2010.
“Acting on the requests from the employees’ unions, the State government has decided to extend the facility to all the eligible applicants. A GO has been issued in this regard”, he added. (NSS)
