Hyderabad: Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily claimed that awareness has been created among the Muslims for claiming 12% reservation in jobs and employment. The positive response of the public is its testimony. Govt. should constitute BCs Commission without any further delay. Muslims should exhibit their unity rising above their political associations. These thoughts were expressed by the spirit behind the 12% reservation for Muslims campaign, Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing a large public meeting organized by Jamiatul Ulema, Nizamabad at Limra Garden Function Hall to press for 12% reservations for Muslims. Floor leader of Congress in Municipal Corporation, Nizamabad, Mr. M. A. Quddus, President, Senior Citizens’ Welfare Society, Mr. M.A. Shukoor, Vice President of State MPJ, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Haleem, President of Muslims Muttahida Mahaz, Mr. Almas Khan, Chairman of District Minorities Cell of Congress, Mr. Sameer Ahmed, President of District Wakf Committee, Mr. Javeed Akram and Congress leader, Mr. Shahbaz Ali were present on the dais. Hafiz Laeeq Khan, President of Jamiatul Ulema of Nizamabad presided over the meeting.
Continuing his speech, Mr. Amer Ali Khan told that the Muslims made representations in large numbers in Tehsil offices to press for 12% reservations for Muslim in accordance with the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily. Except CM, representations have been presented to both the Dy. CMs, all the ministers, MPs and MLAs. Awareness for fighting for their rights has been generated among the Muslims. He also told that if the right is not given by demanding, people should be prepared to get it by snatching. If 12% reservations are provided to Muslims, a student would get admission in MBBS course for Rs. 280. If Muslims get reservations in employment, they would get nearly 15000 Govt. jobs. The standard of education among the Muslims has risen according to their size of population but they are not getting jobs according to their percentage in population.
TRS in its election manifesto made a promise to the Muslims to provide to provide 12% reservations but even after the lapse of 16 months, CM did not fulfill its election promise. If the Govt. is sincere about providing 12% reservations to Muslims, it should constitute BCs Commission so that it could review the backwardness of the Muslims and make a recommendations for 12% reservation. If these reservations are provided, 1.5 lakh Muslims would be benefited.
He mentioned that 940 Muslim youths got jobs in police department due to the physical training imparted by Siasat Urdu Daily. He appealed to the Imams of Mosques to tell the Muslims to be united and create awareness for this campaign. They should record their protest in a democratic way and exert pressure on the Govt. He also told the Muslims to make maximum possible representations to Ms. Kavita, MP of Nizamabad who is the daughter of Mr. KCR. Through the daughter, the Muslims should communicate their sentiments to her father, Mr. KCR.
Hafiz Mohammed Laeeq Khan, District President of Jamiatul Ulema, Nizamabad welcomed the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily and suggested that a consultative meeting should be convened in Hyderabad to strengthen this movement and also a committee should be constituted. This committee should consist of representatives from all the district of Telangana State. It would organize large scale public meetings in Hyderabad city and in districts. He declared that Jamiatul Ulema would present representations to all the Tehsildars of the district of Nizamabad.
Floor leader of Congress in Nizmabad Municipal Corporation, Mr. Abdul Quddus applauded the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily and thanked Jamiatul Ulema for organizing such a large meeting. He hoped that Jamiatul Ulema which participated in the Freedom Struggle of India, would play an important role in this campaign also.
Senior Congress leader, Mr. Syed Najeeb Ali told that a revolution was brought about during the tenure of office of Dr. YSR by providing 4% reservations to Muslims. Mr. KCR promised 12% reservations to Muslims in TRS Manifesto. By constituting Sudheer Committee, the Muslims are being misled. It is the responsibility of the Muslims to make the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily a success. He made a few proposals for the success of this campaign.
Mr. Javeed Akram, District President of Wakf Committee told that the community services of Siasat Urdu Daily are unforgettable. He declared that he would totally support the movement. He lamented that a Muslim political party is creating hurdles in the way of providing 12% reservations to Muslims. In fact it should it should have supported this movement.
President of Muslim Muttahida Mahas, Mr. Mohammed Almas Khan welcomed the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily and appealed to the Muslim youths to participate in it in large numbers. He further told that the campaign initiated in Nizamabad has spread throughout Telangana.
Mr. M.A. Shukoor, President, Senior Citizens’ Welfare Society told that the Muslims should exert their pressure on TRS in Warangal Lok Sabha elections.
Mr. Sameer Ahmed, District President of the Minorities Cell of Congress welcomed the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily and declared that he would fully cooperate for its success. He further told that the intensions of Mr. KCR not true. He got a resolution passed in Telangana Assembly and declared that it would be sent to Central Govt. It is nothing but cheating the Muslims. Mr. Amer Ali Khan inaugurated the signature campaign launched by CPM to support Siasat’s movement for providing 12% reservations to Muslims.
