(Siasat News)India exhibited an exemplary character of communal harmony before the British rule. The rulers made communal harmony of as the motto of their life.
Mr. Asif Pasha, President of Telangana Elders’ Forum expressed these thoughts on the occasion of Eid Milap function held at Madina Education Center, Nampally, Hyderabad.
Mr. Justice Vaman Rao, Mr. Justice E.Ismail, senior Advocate, Mr. Pratap Rddy, Mr. M.Ved Kumar, Vice President of Telangana Praja Front, Mr. Kaleelur Rahman, Congress leader, Mr. Mohammed Azherudin (Jamaat-e-Islmi) Capt. Pandu Ranga Reddy, Dr. Chiranjeevi, Mr. Ghulam Yazdani, Senior Advocate, Mr. Vivek,Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Mr. D.P.Reddy, Mohammed Abdur Rahman, Mr.Ved Kumar, Mr. Thakur Hrudaynath Singh and many others attended the meeting.

Continuing his presidential speech, Mr. Asif Pasha told that the struggle for power by some political parties after independence encouraged communalism. He told that Mr. Mohamed Ali Jinnah was responsible for the partition of India. When the British were certain that they have to quit India, they adopted the policy of Divide and Rule: they promoted the concept of a separate homeland for the Muslims.
Mr. Asif Pasha told that Ms. Sarojini Naidu had declared Mohammed Ali Jinnah as the ambassador of Hindis- Muslim unity.
Justice Vaman Rao told that there is a need to inculcate national understanding between the communities to promote unity. He advised them to neglect each other’s mistakes. He told that he has been visiting his Muslim friends on the occasions of Eid so that their joy is increased.
Mr. Pratap Reddy told that during monarchy, there was more communal harmony among the people of the state. Both the Muslim and non- Muslim rulers used to take care of the people. Aurangzeb’s army consisted more number of non-Muslims. In the army of Shivaji, there were a large number of Muslims. He told that the mosques, temples and Ashoor Khanas are the centers of brotherhood. He pointed out that there are many Hindus who consider it obligatory to visit the shrines of the Muslim saints before going to temples.
Dr. Chiranjeevi told that he takes pride in calling himself a “Hyderabadi”. Hyderabad State before Independence was a secular State knows for its communal harmony. After its merger into Indian Union, our culture and civilization got affected very much. He told that he takes pride in declaring that he was born in the secular state of Asif Jah VII, Mir Osman Ali Khan. He told that merger of Hyderabad in Andhra State affected our Gangana Jamuna culture.
