(Siasat News): Communal Tension gripped Zeba Bagh area of Asifnagar after two groups of different community clashed with each other.
According to the sources a group of drunkards belonging to the Majority community were consuming liquor infront an TV mechanic shop belonging to one Khwaja.
The locals belonging to Zeba Bagh “A” class colony raised objection over consuming alcohol while the Majority group became violent and tried to attack the members of minority community.
In the meantime both groups clashed and indulged in stone pelting leading to communal tension. During this incident a nearby temple was also damaged.
Senior police officials reached spot and pressed RAF and other forces into action. The situation was brought under control and police pickets have been posted in the tension ridden area.
The police used mild force to disperse the gathering in the area
The Asifnagar police have registered two cases and taken up investigation. Few trouble mongers have been picked by the police.
