Communal riots cases entrusted to S.I.T. – 35 arrested

(Siasat News) Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad declared that all the allegations leveled in connection with communal riots are false and said that Hyderabad City police is functioning in a completely impartial way for maintenance of peace in the city. He told this in a press conference yesterday. He said that police can’t please everyone, so it takes a decision with is helpful for maintaining Law and Order under control. He gave the details of the ongoing communal tension in the city for the past 15 days. He claimed that any innocent person has not been arrested. No culprit would be spared.

Regarding the court judgement relating to Bhagyalakshmi Temple, he told that he has not received court orders in writing. He assured that on the basis of court judgement, steps would be taken after contacting the District Collector. He said that the recent communal disturbances are not part of any organized or planned scheme. They are only casual and accidental. He refuted the charges that police is creating curfew like situation in Sabzi Mandi. He told that police is implementing section 144 strickly.

He also clarified that all the cases of recent communal riots have been entrusted to Special Investigation Team and it is arresting only the miscreants. He mentioned that 35 persons have been arrested in connection with Sabzi Mandi communal riots.

He appealed to the citizens not to pay heed to rumours. He expressed his displeasure on the newspaper which published that city Police Commissioner has put a condition to stop V.H.P’s rally and that the construction of the temple is being done under the supervision of Commissioner of Police. He clarified that police does not take a decision in favour of any group. Such news items create unrest among the public. He warned those who are spreading rumours.

He assured the people of Hyderabad that situation in the city is peaceful and police is observing Law and Order situation very strictly.

Present in the public commissioner’s press conference were Mr. Ameet Garg, Additional Commissioner of Police and other officers.
