Communal harmony and unity alone guarantee progress: Zahid Ali Khan

Relief at the rate of Rs. 5,000 per head was distributed to 140 victims of Sangareddy communal riots in a function held at Telangana NGO’s Bhavan, Sangareddy. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor, Siasat distributed the relief amount. In total Rs. 7 lakh relief was distributed.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hakeem, Secretary TDP said that the communal riot of Sangareddy is the most tragic event which should be condemned. He said that Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was the first public leader who visited the riot affected areas. Later, he announced relief which is being distributed today.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that communal riot has taken place for the first time in Sangareddy which shows the failure of our Govt. and its intelligence. He told that during TDP rule, there was no communal riot. Mr. Naidu was CM for nine years during which period he controlled the law and order situation. Even today, people remember Mr. Naidu’s period that he had provided clean and transparent governance. During this period there was a firm grip of the Govt. on police administration but today police is free to do anything.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that communal harmony and unity alone can guarantee progress. The word “HUM” (we) in Urdu is a combination of Hindus and the Muslims. We have to provide its practical solution. Sangareddy has been the abode of peace has. This has to be strengthened further. TDP has released some relief so that atleast some partial compensation could be met out of this relief. He advised the traders to start their business in such a manner that others should bend their heads with shame.

Mr. M. Hanumantha Rao, MLA Medak and President of Medak District TDP told that the communal riot of Sangareddy was condemnable. We should try that it doesn’t recur. We should promote communal harmony by living unitedly. In this communal riot, only the poor people suffered, so TDP is providing financial assistance to the poor traders.

President on this occasion were Mr. Srinivas Goud, former chairman, Z.P. Mr. Sapnadev, Corporator, Sangareddy, Mr. M.A. Basith Chairman, Minority Cell of TDP etc.
