The Muslim Jang Pul, having the status of cultural heritage, is being robbed of its valuable stones and this has been continued for long. Unscrupulous elements are encouraged because of carelessness of officials. The crooks are stealing the stones from the boundary walls of the bridge and are selling them for high prices.
A delegation had met N Raghuveer Reddy Revenue Minister on January 10, 2011 and had called his attention towards the matter. Instead of investigating into the matter the municipal corporation is repairing the boundary wall with ordinary stones, which is like a blot on the landscape, for the historical bridge.
Similarly there is a tablet installed onto the boundary wall of the bridge with Persian inscriptions on it. Some communal elements are trying their best to break the tablet and wipeout the matter inscribed on it.
