Dahod (Guj), January 14: A communal clash broke out in Devgarh Baria taluka today as members of two communities hurled stones at each other and three shops were set on fire, the police said.
The incident took place near Tower area of Devgarh Baria town where members of two communities came out on the streets and pelted stones at each other, they said.
According to the police, three shops and an autorickshaw were set on fire by the mob. Three persons were injured in stone-pelting.
Police used batons to disperse the violent crowd.
Security was stepped up in the sensitive area and additional forces were deployed to maintain law and order. One unit of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) has also been kept on stand-by, they said.
Both the groups have registered cross complaints, the police said.
