Jaipur, April 18:Pursuant to an order of the Rajasthan High Court, the state government today set up a high-power committee to look into the demands of Gujjar community which is on agitation demanding five per cent reservation in jobs and educational institutions.
The seven-member committee would be headed by retired High Court judge I S Israni, a CMO spokesman said.
Congress MP Ratan Singh, Independent MLA Ramswaroop Kasana, Karan Singh Yadav (Cong), Satya Narayan Singh, former chairman of OBC commission, lawyer V S Gujjar and Niranjan Arya IAS have been nominated as the other members of the committee.
The committee was set up in compliance with a High Court order on a PIL on the ongoing Gujjar agitation, the spokesman said.
The committee would consider all issues and matters related to Gujjar agitation and hold discussion with community leaders, he said.
