Committee on Public Accounts to visit Vizag on May 7

The Committee on Public Accounts will visit the Visakhapatnam District on May 7.

The Committee will visit places of all land alienation cases in and around Visakhapatnam, housing schemes and also the Vizag Port to examine the infrastructure provided. The next day, the Committee will visit Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple and hold meeting with the Executive Officer and other officials concerned to review the Audit Objections pertaining to the Temple. The same day, the committee will meet the District Collector and other Officers concerned to review the audit paras relating to Alienation of Government Lands, Power Project not set up even after 10 years, Delay in providing rehabilitation and other issues.

The committee will also review the Budget allocation, expenditure and Revenue collections and Developmental works including the on-going projects taken up by the Housing & NREGP; Endowments; I & CAD; Tourism; Excise; Revenue’ Social Welfare; Transport Departments for the year 2008-09, 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.

The Committee will return to Hyderabad on May 9. (INN)
