Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development K Tarakarama Rao on Monday told the members in the Legislative Council that the TRS government was committed to supply drinking water to the municipalities on the city outskirts along with the twin cities.
Responding to a question of a member during the Question Hour in the Council, the minister said the government was seriously thinking of supplying drinking water to some 190 villages situated under the Outer Ring Road. He also said the government has finalized a plan to provide drinking water supply to the municipalities with a Rs 1,900-crore HUDCO assistance.
The MA&UD minister also said the State government was bringing waters from the rivers Krishna and Godavari to the twin cities in the wake stoppage of water supply from the dried up reservoirs like Osman Sagar, Himayat Sagar, Singhur and Manjira rivulets. He also pointed out that the TRS government was giving increased pensions to various sections of the people better than the previous governments in then united AP State. (NSS)
