For maintenance of peace and also for the development of Telangana State, the procedures adopted during Nizam’s period will be given preference. This was stated by Home Minister of Telangana State, Mr. N. Narasimha Reddy. He was addressing a gathering of Iftar party organized by Mr. Mahinder Reddy, Commissioner of Hyderabad City police at Chowmahalla Palace, Khilwath yesterday. Present on this occasion were, VC of Jamia Nizamia, Maulana Khaleel Ahmed, Maulana Abdullah Qureshi, Maulana Murtuza Pasha, Maulana Qubool Pasha Shuttari, Muslim Bureaucrats and Police Officers.
Continuing his speech, Mr. Narasimha Reddy told that Govt. of Telangana wants to develop the city of Hyderabad on international level for which the cooperation of all the citizens is essential. He termed Hindu-Muslim unity of the city exemplary. He applauded the efforts of Commissioner of Police and told that he is a secular officer. Promotion of investments and offering jobs to the unemployed youths are the preferences of Telangana Govt. He also said that the Hindus and the Muslims of Telangana State live together like the milk and the vermicelli (Sewiyan) of Sheerkhurma dish.
Mr. Mahinder Reddy gave a surprise by his Urdu speech. He told that there is no parallel of the culture of Hyderabad. It is its identity. He further told that by implementing reformation in Police department, Hyderabad City police is following people friendly policy. He said that this day is the happiest day for him as he is hosting Iftaar Party for the Muslims. He was wearing Sherwani and Roomi cap. DCP of South Zone was the center of attraction in his traditional sherwani. The specialty of the function was that all the police officers were wearing sherwani and Kurta Pyjama. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Mohammed Jalaluddin Akbar, IFS, Director, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Ziauddin, Engineer, Mr. Siddiqui, Addl. DCP, Mr. Ghouse Mohiuddin, ACP, Asif Nagar, Mr. Tajuddin, ACP (CCS), Mr. M.A. Bari, ACP Falaknuma, Mr. Taher Ali, ACP (Rtd.) and Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid, leader of MBT also attended the function.
