Commissioner appeals people not to believe rumors, inspect bandobust in city

City Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy, IPS, has urged the people not to believe rumors during Ganesh idol immersion day. The CP visited several places to check police ‘bandobust’ across the city as the two festivals Bakrid and Ganesh idol immersion are falling one after the other.

           

Speaking on the occasion, Mahender Reddy said the citizens have to celebrate their festivals in a peaceful manner without believing rumors. He said already police have taken up CC Camera observation to see that no friction at any place in the city. The Commissioner supervised security arrangements across the city. He warned the people not to resort to spreading rumors through social media or any other media.

Meanwhile, Intelligence wing cautioned the police to remain alert as there was scope for violent incidents in the city during Ganesh idol immersion and Bakrid festivals. Reacting to the Intelligence alert, the city police organized a special ‘Kavath’ on Monday in the Old City.  (NSS)
