Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain MLC termed the formation of Commissionerate for Minorities a gift from the Chief Minister for the community. He expressed the hope that C.M. would take a few more steps for the welfare of Minorities. He told that Congress is a secular party. Whatever steps it has taken since 2004 are the proofs of its secular policies towards Minorities. He said that Congress didn’t deviate from it principles.
It also didn’t neglect protecting the rights of Minorities. He told that the Minorities are with Congress and they would continue to be with Congress in future also.
During TDP Govt., the budget for Minorities was Rs.36 crore, now it is Rs.489 crore. It is expected that in the next budget, complete justice would be done to Mnorities. He said that he has met the Finance Minister and the Chief Minister and represented for enhancing the budget for Minorities next year.
Mr. Farooq Husain told that 4% reservation given to the Muslims is a gift of Congress Govt. By declaring the formation of the Commissionerate for Minorities, Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy has fulfilled the long pending demand of the Muslims. He had also given extension for ten years in reservations to the Muslims. He told that with the welfare schemes of the Govt., lakhs of students are being benefited. Govt. has provided facilities of higher education to the Muslims. Hostel, residential schools and professional colleges have been established for the Muslims. He pointed out threat due to reservation policy, 60% of the sub-inspectors of police are from among the Muslims. He told that 30, 239 students got admissions in Engineering, 909 in M.B.B.S. 9214 in B.D.S. He reiterated that Congress is bound by its promises for the welfare of the Muslims.
