NEW DELHI: “SHIGHROI ASCHHE [coming soon]” – these were the only two words in a Bengali poster released by a pro-IS Telegram channel indicating an ominous warningthat the pro-Islamic groups could be a planning attacks either in Bangladesh or West Bengal.
According to Times Of India reports, the poster with threat of action, released on Thursday night reads “Shighroi Aschhe [coming soon], Inshallah…” and has the logo of a group named Al-Mursalat.
As per sources in the intelligence agency, it has confirmed the publication of such a poster (in fact doing the rounds on the internet) and taken it seriously following the eight deadly bombings in Sri Lanka that killed over 350 people and wounded 500 others.
Days after the serial blasts in Sri Lanka that targeted churches and hotels, and foreign nationals, IS claimed responsibility for the attack.
A little-known organisation called the National Thawheed Jama’ath (NTJ) came under scanner for possibly carrying out serial bombings on Easter Sunday.
Earlier, Ruwan Wijewardene, the Sri Lankan State Minister of Defence had earlier said the NTJ had close links with the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen India unit, of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh or JMB, may have had a role in Sunday’s bombings.
