Dehradun: A college located in the native village of NSG commando Gajendra Singh Bisht who died fighting the perpetrators of 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai will be named after the martryr.
Making the announcement after paying tribute to the brave NSG commando on the anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack here today, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said the inter- college in his native village Nayagaon Pelio will be rechristened as Amar Shaheed Gajendra Singh Bisht Janta Inter College.
By a rare show of valour,Commando Gajendra Singh Bisht not only did Uttarakhand proud but also played an important role in foiling the Mumbai terror attack, Rawat said.
The Chief Minister also launched a Facebook page dedicated to the martyr on the occasion besides honouring his wife Vineeta by offering her a shawl.
He also announced that a separate wing will be created in the state’s Culture Department to maintain statues and memorials of martyrs.
