Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the district Collectors to play a key role in the Harithaharam programme across the Telangana State.
In an official communiqué here, the Chief Minister asked the Collectors to closely monitor the programme to ensure that the two-week long green drive becomes a great success.
Asking them to send daily reports of the green drive to his camp office, the chief minister said the district administration should coordinate with other departments.
The Chief Minister exhorted the people, schools, traders, businessmen in the State to actively participate in the Harithaharam programme and help achieve the target of planting 46 crore saplings in all the districts. KCR maintained that plantation of saplings should be done at all thoroughfares, highways, schools, institutions of public and private, government and private offices and vacant places. (INN)
