Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will hold a video conference with district Collectors on August 1 and discuss about sheep rearing scheme.
According to a press release, the minister will address the district Collectors, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries officials. The minister will take stock of the sheep rearing scheme launched on June 20 which aims to uplift the Yadava community. The Minister also will throw some light on other prestigious schemes of fish production to empower Besta and Mudiraj communities by dropping a large number of fish seed in reservoirs and lakes in villages.
Till date, the officials concerned have distributed 35,000 sheep units among beneficiaries in the districts and getting ready to take up second phase. The minister will also review the sheep rearing scheme and focus on fisheries production in August and September. The department plans to drop about 70 crore fish seed free of cost in reservoirs, lakes and ponds in the villages that will boost the rural economy by giving work to the fishermen. (NSS)
