East Godavari District Collector and special officer of Kakinada city municipal corporation Neethu Kumary today suspended Sanitary Inspector and Maistry of seventh circle faulting them for the deteriorating sanitation in the area.
She also asked the commissioner to stop one day wages to the Sanitary Inspector Bhimachander and Maistry Neelapu Venkata Lakshmi of the area concerned for dereliction of duty.
The Collector warned Municipal health Officer Dr Rathna Uma that she would not hesitate in initiating disciplinary action against her and other officials also, if they fail to improve the sanitation in J Ramaraopet, Mutha nagar, Mahalakshmi nagar, Annamma ghati and other areas in Jagannadhapuram within two days. She asked them to go round various localities early in the morning daily from 0500 hours onwards so that the lower rung workers would discharge their duties properly.
After inspecting the sanitation, drainage and roads in various wards in the city, the collector has reviewed the situation with the Municipal commissioner and engineers. She instructed them to take up repairs of the roads that are in a bad shape and expedite execution of road works already sanctioned. UNI
