East Godavari District Collector Neethu Kumari today flagged off the World TB day rally at the government general hospital here. Addressing the participants on the occasion, she said TB was a controllable disease and it can be treated effectively by DOT (Directly Observed Treatment) system, introduced by Andhra Pradesh government.
Stating that TB and HIV are inter-linked, the Collector said many HV patients were now losing their lives to TB, she said and advised patients to get themselves tested for HIV so that comprehensive treatment could be given simultaneously. UNI
